Clearview's First Year Anniversary
One year!! It's been fun reflecting on our journey these past few days. It's been one heck of a roller coaster ride. You MUST fight for your dream. Contend for it. Sometimes the view gets foggy. Unclear. You even question the dream. Did we miss something? Did we reach too far? Is this really our destiny? When you begin to doubt your dream, put yourself in the company of people who will remind you of your calling. Why you are doing this. Somebody who will tell you whose you are. You must have a fellowship of people. Because in the midst of doubt and weariness, they lift you up and this is what you hear:
~YOU DID NOT MISS GOD~ LR

"You must have a small fellowship to walk with you and fight with you and bandage your wounds. Remember, the path is narrow, and few find it. This is essential." ~Waking the Dead

Write it down so you will remember.

The truth will set you free. And when that happens, THEN, you can see clearly the view that has been set before you. You realize the dreams that you have were God's dreams for you all along.

And when that happens, everything becomes more clear.
                                                         The view, beyond the view.

I have a thankful heart for ALL HE has given us.

Happy one year anniversary Clearview!

Stayed tuned. Destiny is happening here.

Happy Earth Day!

Earth Day. Just another day really.  I just happen to see it on the calendar and thought . . . what a great day to blog about our landscaping. Doug & I are avid gardeners. We spent 25 years in our last home and put quite a bit of work into that yard. It was glorious.
Hello, little blue house.

We didn't have any oak trees in this yard.

We have spent the last 9 months with just grass in our yard. And getting that grass was an awesome day for this guy.

We put in 18 pallets of sod. Wowza! And the rediculous thing about it is it wasn't enough. Doug said we needed about 6 more pallets.  And thank the Lord for these fine men or Doug might be still planting sod.

Green grass. So nice, finally.

We drew bed lines before the sod came because we knew pretty much what was going in there. Those glorious azaleas. Now to have big azaleas like the ones from our old house, you must buy Formosa or George Tabors. Yes. I know their names. We are good friends.

So this past weekend, we drove up to Columbia's Farmer's Market to the big plant show. We were hoping to find some good deals on azaleas because at Home Depot and Lowes, they are anywhere from $18-$25 for a 3 or 5 gallon shrub.
We were not disappointed. We found 3 gallon shrubs for $5 each. Holy moly! And they were so big. The plant was close to 5 gal. size.

Take a look.

We loaded that trailer up. We probably only needed about 18 azaleas out front but I talked Doug into getting 12 more. That yard is bigger than we realize. We had so much fun. We bought a lot of other things too, but our goal was for azalea love.

Here are a few other things we picked up.
Bedding plants for pots

Dogwood trees

Redbud Trees

And the azalea trailer. That's only half of them.

We also had dug up quite a bit of plants from our old house to use here. They are quite ready to connect with the earth.

Well, I hope you enjoyed the little yard tour. It's SLOWLY coming together, but it's gonna be awesome when it's done. Can you see it? All those azaleas out under those oak trees? Eye-candy for the neighbors.

It's a lovely view, front & back.

Earth Day is not so far fetched after all . . .

Psalm 24:1
"The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world, and all of its people belong to Him."
Happy Earth Day!

Easter at Clearview

I love Easter time. It's all things new and the celebration of a Risen Saviour.
A year ago we had hoped to have our first Easter at Clearview, but was delayed till Summer. So this year was very reflective for me. Since then, we've had a new addition to the family. This is Baby Blakes first visit.
He is the sweetest thing. We actually think he grew while here. It was the GG sugar. All things new!!

Tyler brought all his friends along. He is dino boy and he is obsessed with dinosaurs, cars, planes, & trucks. He knows each car, plane, & dinosaur by name. Try to keep up. You will lose. He's absolutely brilliant.

Papa's home!!

I believe this might be the first picture of all 4.
Aunt Rachel is by far the best aunt to these 4 cousins.

 Cheesies.
Hungry babies and pics just don't work.

A bottle changes everything!

Was totally in love with my Easter tablescape.  It was so pretty.

Found these little bunnies at GoodWill.
Used a can of semi gloss brown spray paint & viola.
Chocolate bunnies.

Elizabeth's parents joined us for Easter dinner. I love that Zoe & Hannah have two sets of grandparents around them all the time. A great wellspring.
We set all 12 of us at the table for dinner. That table is one of my favorite things in our new home.

 A lot of love happened:

They colored Easter eggs

And I've been dreaming about this Easter egg hunt for years.
The guys hid 87 eggs. All were found but 1. Brilliant!!

As I watched these things unfold, I couldn't help but thank the One who had given it to us. This awesome land. The promise. Our children.

My heart was full.

This view watching  my children handing this same promise onto their children

The Fathers teaching their sons & daughters of Easter.

 New life.

Fun

Friendship.

Wisdom

I love this view right here. It is the promise of things to come.

Happy Easter. He is Risen!
And He is the hope for all of us.
